How to reach our Grievance Officer and what to expect
Last updated: April 2026
1. About this page
TheBooth.Club is operated from India. This page exists to comply with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 (“IT Rules 2021”), the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”), and related Indian regulations that require us to publish an accessible grievance mechanism.
If you are a user, a parent or guardian, a copyright owner, a law-enforcement officer, or any third party with a complaint about content or conduct on TheBooth.Club, this page tells you who to contact and how quickly you can expect a response.
2. Grievance Officer
In accordance with Rule 3(2)(b) of the IT Rules 2021, we have designated a Grievance Officer to handle complaints relating to content, account actions, intermediary obligations, and alleged violations of the platform’s Terms or applicable law.
Name: K. Gandhi
Designation: Grievance Officer, TheBooth.Club
Email: info@thebooth.club (subject line: “Grievance”)
Address: Available on request via the email above. We are a small India-based team and do not maintain a public office address; we will share a postal address with any complainant who specifically requires one for a formal proceeding.
Hours: Email is monitored Monday–Saturday. Emergencies are triaged daily.
3. How to file a grievance
Email info@thebooth.club with “Grievance” in the subject line. To help us act quickly, please include:
- Your full name and a contact email or phone number.
- A description of the complaint — what content, account, or behaviour is at issue.
- Where applicable, a direct link to the content (e.g.
thebooth.club/room/…) or the display name of the account involved. - The category of complaint (defamation, harassment, impersonation, copyright, child safety, privacy, illegal content, etc.).
- Any supporting documents or evidence (screenshots are usually enough).
- If you are filing on someone else’s behalf, your relationship to them and authorization to act.
Anonymous or unverifiable complaints will still be reviewed, but we may not be able to respond directly or escalate without a contact route.
4. Our response timelines
Per IT Rules 2021 Rule 3(2)(b), we commit to:
- Acknowledge every grievance within 24 hours of receipt at
info@thebooth.club. The acknowledgement will include a reference identifier you can quote in follow-up correspondence. - Resolve every grievance within 15 days of receipt, unless the matter requires legal review, cooperation with law enforcement, or technical investigation beyond that window — in which case we will write back with a status update and an estimated date.
- Take down content covered by Rule 3(1)(d) (impersonation of a person’s likeness, including morphed or AI-generated imagery) within 24 hours of a valid complaint with sufficient identifying detail.
Resolution may include removing content, suspending or terminating an account, restoring previously removed content if a takedown was made in error, or explaining why no action will be taken. We document our decision and the reasoning in the response.
5. Copyright complaints (DMCA / IT Act §79)
If you believe content on TheBooth.Club infringes your copyright, please email info@thebooth.club with “Copyright Takedown” in the subject line. A complete notice should include:
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
- A direct link to the infringing material on TheBooth.Club and a description of where to find it.
- Your contact details (full name, email, postal address, phone).
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the exclusive right.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Counter-notices from users whose content has been removed are accepted at the same address with “Counter-Notice” in the subject line.
Repeat infringers’ accounts will be terminated.
6. Child safety
Content involving the sexual abuse or exploitation of a minor will be removed immediately on receipt of a credible report and reported to the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in) and any other authority required by law.
To report such content, email info@thebooth.club with “URGENT Child Safety” in the subject line.
7. Law enforcement requests
Indian law-enforcement officers seeking user data or content preservation should send a written request on official letterhead to info@thebooth.club identifying the case number, the legal basis, the specific accounts or content at issue, and the requesting officer. We disclose user data only when compelled by valid legal process.
8. DPDP Act — Data Principal rights
As a Data Principal under the DPDP Act 2023, you have the right to access, correct, and delete personal data we hold about you, and to nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf. To exercise these rights, see the Privacy Policy; if your request relates to a grievance, file it through this page so it goes to the Grievance Officer directly.
9. Changes to this page
We may update this page when our team, processes, or legal obligations change. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email to registered users.
